Maria Kononov

Maria Kononov is a multidisciplinary artist whose practice spans painting, illustration, sculpture, fashion design, and theatrical art. Her versatile visual language moves fluidly between media while maintaining a strong, recognizable identity.

Despite her young age, Maria has built a strong international presence, and her works are held in private collections worldwide.

Maria’s creative language is marked by versatility and curiosity. Beyond painting, she illustrates books and calendars, creates sculptural works, designs clothing, and works as a theatrical artist, moving freely between disciplines while maintaining a cohesive artistic universe.

Exhibitions & Recognition

She has held successful solo exhibitions in major cultural centers across Europe, including Moscow, Milan, London, Paris, Vienna, Rome, Amsterdam, Saint Petersburg, and Bologna. In 2015, she became the youngest member of the World Academy of Art and Science (WAAS), and in 2017 her solo exhibition was presented as part of the Venice Biennale at Palazzo Zenobio.

In collaboration with Maraletto, Maria unites her experience in fashion and fine art, creating prints that feel both narrative and sculptural. Her imagery on garments reflects the same imaginative breadth and refined sensitivity that define her practice across mediums.
