Asya Gimborg

Asya Gimborg is an art historian, author, and lecturer working at the intersection of art history, East–West cultural dialogue, and contemporary visual culture.

With a professional background in art history, she has focused on classical Western art, Islamic and Eastern artistic heritage, and cultural exchange between regions. Asya is the author of two books on art dedicated to the East and cultural dialogue, one of which became a bestseller. She lectures for diverse audiences, hosts the podcast "1001 Stories of Art," and runs the Telegram channel "Shaherezada Stepanovna." In recent years, she has lived and worked in Europe, combining academic expertise with experience in the luxury industry.

Collaboration with Mataletto

The collaboration with Maraletto continues Asya Gimborg's research practice — translating cultural images and myths into contemporary visual language. Each design explores how an art-historical approach functions within object and surface design: not by literally illustrating the past, but by translating cultural codes into a visual language that speaks to today, told through image, ornament, and color.
