Andrei Piankovskii

Andrei Piankovskii is a painter for whom art is a way of understanding the world — a prism through which life reveals itself in images. His work is rooted in the human experience, with portraiture as a central genre.

Born and raised in St. Petersburg, Andrei received a classical academic education, studying at the Faculty of Fine Arts at Herzen University and later graduating from the Repin St. Petersburg Academy of Arts. His artistic formation was shaped through close work with leading academic painters and years of intensive studio practice. Since 2025, he lives and works in Armenia, continuing his dual path as a painter and educator.

Alongside his personal practice, Andrei is deeply engaged in teaching. Since 2022, he has been working as a painting and drawing instructor, sharing the principles of classical art with new generations of artists. His works are held in private collections across Europe, North America, Asia, and Australia, reflecting the broad appeal of his refined, classical yet contemporary approach.
